In August of 2020, Jack moved from Thousand Oaks to San Diego in hopes of furthering his career in Wealth Management. He'd always felt the pull towards San Diego, and had big plans not realizing the world had even bigger ideas for him. Within a week of relocating and in the midst of the pandemic, he met Sydney. It was on Hinge, a dating app, which both Jack & Sydney had later said they weren't really looking for anything. Yet, it was after that first sunset date at Balboa Park, where Sydney brought the drinks and Jack brought the burritos, that they couldn't deny there was a spark. They stayed there laughing, chatting, learning about each other well after the sun had set.
From there, their relationship deepened and blossomed. While Sydney pursued her dreams of becoming a doctor like her mother and Jack finished his Master's. It was Valentine's Day of 2021 when Jack first said "I think I love you". Sydney quickly replied "I love you!". They moved in together later that year, living in Hillcrest, excited to continue building a life together. Easter of 2022, Sydney and Jack welcomed their first dog, Trixie, to the family.
Jack finally asked the big question on July 25th of 2023. Sydney and Jack had travelled to Europe with each other, and met up with friends in Greece. It was there on the beach with the sunsetting that Jack got down on one knee.
Flash forward to 2025, Sydney received the news she'd been hoping for and working so hard for. She was accepted to Medical School, and would be welcomed to the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. Jack and Sydney were ecstatic and packed their life up to make the move to Las Cruces, New Mexico for the next exciting stage of life. They welcomed another puppy to the family, Duke, in 2026.
Now, Sydney and Jack are thrilled to be surrounded by those they love and cherish as they exchange vows on the big day and celebrate their love for each other.
